Melissa Forziat - Small Business Marketing ConsultantThe founder and principal of Melissa Forziat Events, Melissa is a small business marketing coach and event manager with international experience in event and brand management.  A goal-driven and creative planner, she enjoys strategically planning events and marketing campaigns that allow clients the satisfaction of connecting their great missions, products, and services with their audience.

Melissa’s background as an artistic gymnast for 18 years led to a career in sport and events. An initial role at the gymnastics and figure skating venue for the 1998 Goodwill Games in New York paved the way for professional event planning and press operations roles with the Torino 2006 and Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

For two years, Melissa worked with the U.S. Olympic Committee, managing events for visiting dignitaries and foreign delegations in the International Relations department.  During this time, she managed dozens of events ranging from visits of Saudi Arabian princes or presidents of National Olympic Committees to training programs with international teams and International Olympic Committee scholarship programs.

Through her experiences with the biggest brands in the world, Melissa learned the principles of building a brand, creating a marketing message, and reaching the right target markets.  These principles are the keys to successfully marketing a business.

Now the owner of Melissa Forziat Events, Melissa is a marketing coach and event manager.  She enjoys taking Olympic-level marketing and event management and making it accessible to small businesses and nonprofits all over the world.

Melissa holds a Bachelors Degree in International Relations from Brown University.  In addition to her work, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Ventures – a Seattle-based non-profit that helps low-income entrepreneurs to gain self-sufficiency through business ownership.
