Enjoy this week’s guest post from LaKeisha Muhammad, coach and author, to find out the blessings of being a late bloomer!
I want to share an inspiring message with other late bloomers just like me. It does not matter where you start as long as you get started.
You are on schedule and blessed to be here.
My late 30’s was a start to a whole new world as an entrepreneur. I learned that even if I fail, I can fail forward. I can try again if I believe I can win. I was encouraged by other successful late bloomers that age does not matter. I embraced being a late bloomer and learned that what truly matters is mindset and purpose.
I encourage you – if you believe in what you do, don’t quit!
Never allow social media to discourage you or make you feel like you have to be someone you’re not or be who others want or think you should be. Never allow social media to control the content of your personality or your purpose. Never allow social media to make you think that everyone is going to like you or your messages.
When we are purposed to change lives through empowerment, inspiration, impact, and influence, understand that you are not for everybody, but you are for somebody. Those people need your voice, your services, and products.
I have learned that it is best to simply be me and love what I do. Those I’m meant to attract – with like-minded energy – will show up. Of course, you should learn your target audience and narrow down your niche.
I believe in balance in how you build your business online and offline. Having those sit downs with people who say, “Yes” to wanting to support, work, and/or partner with you are just as important.
Know that you’re not alone. I felt like I was plenty of times over the last few years. Then, I became inspired by reading about other late bloomers, who have become very successful millionaires and multi billionaires later in life. Justine Bateman went back to school at the age of 48. Fashion designer, Vera Wang, was almost the age of 40 when she started her business. The famous chicken, Ray Croc Colonel Sanders, launched his KFC franchise in his 40s. One more, Martha Stewart, was almost 50 years of age before she signed her first deal to her magazine and of course she had all the other amazing things she has set out to do at an older age.
Again, late bloomers know that there is a blessing and you are never too old to dream a new dream. You can rebirth your vision. You can set new goals around schooling, career, have a family, get married, or start a business. Get a coach or mentor for support. Keep growing and mastering your craft and wealth will show up. Always show up being as authentic and transparent as you can be.
