Enjoy this week’s guest post by Regina Ackley, online marketer and podcaster, on why podcasting is important and how it can be beneficial to small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Podcasting is Important

People have traded in their playlists for podcasts, and consumers everywhere are tuning into online talk shows. There are many reasons to add a podcast to your content marketing strategy.

It increases your reach and grows your audience.

When you publish your podcast on platforms such as Anchor, Radio Public, Spotify, and Stitcher, you expose your content to thousands of potential listeners for free. These platforms are search engines, and people use them to find podcasts. That organic exposure helps you increase your reach and grow your audience.

It’s free and quick to produce.

Recording a podcast episode is far less time consuming than writing an article or recording a video. To create a podcast episode, all you have to do is record yourself speaking (something you do naturally every day).

It builds trust with your audience.

Audio content is personal. When someone hears you speak, they hear your personality and your authenticity. They can detect the excitement in your voice and feel your passion for helping them while you discuss topics relevant to you and them. This makes it easy for them to meet, like and trust you.

Can be used to help sell products.

By doing a podcast you can talk about your products what they can benefit from your products and get more sales.

Help build confidence in yourself as a public speaker.

By podcasting, you can build your confidence by talking to the public through your podcast. I have noticed that by doing podcast it is much easier than being face to face, and you have more confidence in speaking freely.

A platform you can leverage when you start a business.

By podcasting, you can use it as a great tool during the launch of your business by talking about how you got started and what your goals are for your business.

The great thing about podcasting is most podcast sites have a share button where you can share your episodes to your favorite social sites or copy and paste the link or embedded code, and you can also download your episodes and post them to your Facebook pages etc.

Another great way to get your podcast out there is by joining Facebook groups, Facebook pages, and podcast websites where they will let you share your podcast.

And last but not least: Create a page on your website for your podcast episodes, keep building your audience, keep sharing your episodes, and always keep making more episodes.

I personally like Anchor myself and it is free to use. Anchor also broadcasts your episodes on 9 platforms.

You can find all my podcast channels on Anchor:
